This is a non-infilled high grade nylon yarn system designed for heavy traffic tee lines, hitting mats, and extended use golfers. This product is used by many of the top golf courses, driving ranges, and indoor simulator rooms in the U.S.
Nylon fibers allow the club to strike through the turf with divot-like action with minimal resistance and nylon is regarded as the best fiber to spring back to it's original position. The 3/8" shock pad gives the product some stability and helps prevent hitting strips from moving.
When used as a hitting strip along with our True Turf putting turf, this hitting strip becomes almost invisible and is the most seamless on the market. Use 3/4" underlayment and it will line up perfectly. Simply trace the outline of the hitting strip on the bottom side of the True Turf with a sharpie or painters tape, use a straight edge as a guide, cut out the rectangle, flip it over and insert the hitting strip. Do the same to your underlayment and you're all set - takes about 10 minutes and although it might seem nerve-racking is so easy to do. The density of this turf allows for a nearly invisible edge.
Total height of the turf and shock pad is 1".
A lot of users experience golfer’s elbow with prolonged use of driving range mats. The best answer is to pretend you have it already and exercise and stretch accordingly. A couple other suggestions are:
- Use graphite shafts
- Add vibration dampening inserts next time you re-grip your clubs
- Play around with various range mats knowing they aren’t real turf!
